National Champions: Maryland Christian Saints

The Saints (MACC Champions) defeated the Home School Athletic Association (HSAA) Blue Angels from Dallas, Texas 14 to 7 to win their second National Championship, winning back to back titles (2010 & 2011). The Saints from Bel Air, Maryland (north of Baltimore) were led by running back Michael James and quarterback Christian Dipaulo. HSAA, led by quarterback Davis Kinville, took the opening kickoff and marched down the field to the end zone to take a 7-0 lead. Then the Saints scored on their first possession to tie it at 7. At this point it looked like the game was going to be a high scoring affair as both teams have averaged scoring close to 40 points a game. However, as it is often said “defense wins championships” and that was the case in this game as both defenses took over and kept both teams out of the end zone except for one other score by Maryland.

Maryland Christian defeated the Lighthouse Christian Chargers (2008 & 2009 Champions) from Springfield, Missouri, 42-6 in the semifinals while HSAA beat the North Georgia Falcons 52-22.
